Good News - Summer EBT Benefits are Coming Back to Help Those in Need

April 30, 2025

Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (Summer EBT) helps families purchase healthy food for the months in which students are not in school, and it's back for summer 2025.

Are you eligible?

Eligible students include:

  • Those who qualify for free or reduced-price meals
  • Those whose families are receiving other assistance benefits, including SNAP, Colorado Works (TANF), or Medicaid (and meet NSLP income guidelines)
  • Those who attend a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and whose household meet income guidelines for free or reduced-price school meals

Colorado automatically enrolls most eligible students in the Summer EBT program. Some students may need to apply directly. You may need to apply if you do not have an up-to-date household income form on file with your school. This could include students recently enrolled in a new school or those who have recently moved to Colorado.

Things to know

  • In the coming weeks, eligible students will receive an approval letter in the mail - keep an eye out!
  • If you received benefits in 2024 hold on to your Summer EBT card - 2025 benefits will be automatically loaded onto your existing card. Newly eligible students will be sent a new card in the mail.
  • If you lost your 2024 card, call the Support Center to be sent a new one.
